АNKARA, January 16. /Dunyo IA/. A leading Turkish industry publication, “Türkiye Turizm” which specialises in coverage of the tourism sector, has published an in-depth article highlighting Uzbekistan’s recent achievements in tourism development, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The article notes that, according to a recent report by the World Tourism Organization (UN WTO), Uzbekistan ranked among the top seven destinations worldwide for the fastest growth in tourist arrivals between January and September 2025. “The number of international visitors to the country rose by 73 percent compared with 2019 figures, surpassing early projections and generating approximately 3.74 billion euros in export revenues from tourism services”, - publication states.
The publication further highlights that, as of November 2025, Uzbekistan welcomed 10.7 million international visitors, exceeding the government’s initial target of 10 million foreign tourists. It notes that the average length of stay increased from 4-5 nights to 7-9 nights, a development that has significantly enhanced the overall economic return of the tourism sector.
Assessing the factors behind this performance, “Türkiye Turizm” points to large-scale investment as a key driver of growth. A total of 1.4 billion euros was allocated across 421 tourism-related projects, resulting in the creation of 16,100 new jobs and the construction of 954 new hotels nationwide. The publication also underlines the importance of Uzbekistan’s visa-free entry policy, which applies to citizens of around 100 countries, describing it as a critical measure that has accelerated inbound tourism and strengthened the country’s international attractiveness.
The article also underscores that Uzbekistan is being actively promoted as an attractive destination for Turkish travellers. Readers are introduced to the country’s key tourism hubs, including Samarkand, Bukhara, Nukus, Khiva and Margilan, along with their rich cultural and historical heritage.
