АNKARA, January 27. /Dunyo IA/.  A “roundtable” was held at the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) with the participation of members of the Council of the Association of Uzbek Students in Ankara and Uzbek youth studying in Türkiye, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

YTB is a government organization with its own budget, operating under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye. Currently, about 3,000 Uzbek students receive scholarships from this organization.

At the “roundtable”, participants were provided with detailed information on the content and essence of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s Address to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan on December 26, 2025, including the priorities outlined and the initiatives proposed.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Khaydarov emphasized that in the new era of the country’s development, ensuring the rights and interests of youth, creating all necessary conditions for their education, work and the realization of their abilities and talents has become a matter of state policy.

The participants were provided with information about the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, including the opportunities created for youth, educational reforms, support for small business development and assistance provided to Uzbek students studying abroad. In addition, the country’s recent economic growth achievements were highlighted and there was an exchange of views on Uzbekistan’s role in the world.

The discussion with students also addressed factors that could threaten youth safety. It was emphasized that while staying in a foreign country, they must strictly adhere to local rules and regulations.

Uzbek students shared their experiences of studying abroad, their future plans and offered suggestions for further development of the country.

The “roundtable” demonstrated that Uzbek students are on the verge of significant achievements and their diligence in science and research is reflected in the projects they are striving to implement.

Students of Ankara University, Umidjon Yakubov (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) and Sardorkhon Hamidov (Faculty of Computer Engineering), announced that they are working on the startup project Myvet.uz aimed at further developing the veterinary sector in Uzbekistan. This project is designed to unite specialists in the field, provide convenience for pet owners, facilitate animal registration and improve communication among professionals in an electronic environment. Currently, the startup is launched as a Telegram bot in a test mode, with plans to present it to the public as a full-fledged platform in the future.

Rahimjan Rahimjanov, a student of the Faculty of Medicine at Gazi University, addressed the issue of overweight and its harmful effects. He highlighted the global concept of “obesity as a global threat” and explained that obesity can lead to fatal outcomes. To prevent this problem, he proposed raising public awareness through the medical universities of Uzbekistan.

Nurmukhammad Kabiljanov, a student of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt Üniversitesi in Ankara, reported that he is studying jewelry design and plans to establish a production of jewelry in Eastern and Uzbek styles, drawing on the experience of Türkiye. He emphasized the importance of being among the first, as this method has not yet been applied in Türkiye and stated that there is a plan to enter the global market with new products. As a result, he set a goal to elevate Uzbekistan to the level of a producing country with its own style, rather than merely being a supplier of raw materials.

The Uzbek students also focused on establishing a systematic and ongoing dialogue with compatriots, further strengthening mechanisms for youth engagement and support, participating in grant projects, providing practical assistance in financing startup projects, improving the system of connections with other Uzbek student organizations abroad, sharing information and effectively utilizing digital platforms.

During the meeting, students put forward a number of practical proposals aimed at further strengthening ties with their homeland, protecting their rights and legitimate interests and expanding cooperation in social, economic, educational and cultural spheres. This dialogue contributed to the further development of cooperation with students, reinforced mutual trust and created a solid foundation for future practical collaboration.
