Uzbek Students crowned Champions at “Clean Energy Hackathon 2026”

BAKU, January 27. /Dunyo IA/. The awards ceremony for the winners of the “Clean Energy Hackathon 2026” was held in Baku, organized by Clean Energy Centre for the ECO Region (CECECО), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The ceremony, held at the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, began with a “roundtable” discussion dedicated to International Clean Energy Day, observed annually on 26 January. The event was attended by members of parliament, senior officials from the Ministry of Energy, the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan and other dignitaries, highlighting the high-level engagement in promoting sustainable energy initiatives in the region.
Uzbek nationals Feruzbek Bakoev and Bobur Abdullaev, students at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad Al-Khwarizmi, claimed first place at the “Clean Energy Hackathon 2026”, receiving certificates valued at USD 3,000. Participants from Azerbaijan took second place, while representatives from Kazakhstan secured third place.
Aysel Yagubova, Executive Director of CECECO, congratulated the winners, saying:
- Uzbekistan was the most active country in this hackathon. Over 70 projects were submitted from the country, making it extremely challenging to select a winner. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Uzbek youth for their remarkable engagement and enthusiasm.
