PUTRAJAYA, February 25. /Dunyo IA/. In the administrative capital of Malaysia, Putrajaya, a charitable event dedicated to the holy month of Ramadan is taking place, featuring the national Uzbekistan pavilion, organized to broadly promote the country’s tourism potential, rich cultural heritage and handicraft products, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event is running from 19 February through March.

The fair is organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the administration of Putrajaya. Participants include members of the “Hunarmand” Artisans Association, as well as local tourism companies, hotels and restaurants.

During the event, information was presented on the development of pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan, ongoing reforms in the tourism sector, and the creation of comfortable conditions for visitors. Attendees have the opportunity to learn more about the country’s historical and modern tourist centers, rich culture, unique architecture and arts, as well as national traditions.

Particular attention was given to promoting tourism programs such as “Pilgrimage Tourism”, “Historical and Cultural Tourism”, “Gastronomic Tourism” and “Umrah+”.

As part of the fair, an exhibition and market of national handicrafts, decorative and applied arts, light industry products, and silk goods is being held with the participation of members of the “Hunarmand” Artisans Association.

To give the Malaysian audience a fuller experience of Uzbekistan’s gastronomic potential, a traditional Uzbek dish - plov was served at the iftar during the official opening of the fair.

The country’s historical shrines, rich cultural heritage, and national cuisine made a strong impression on visitors from Malaysia.
