Navruz celebrated at Istanbul University

ISTANBUL, March 29. /Dunyo IA/. A festive concert celebrating Navruz was held at Istanbul University with the support of the Uzbek private institution, Renaissance Education University, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event brought together students, faculty, and members of the academic community. Diplomats from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan congratulated attendees on the holiday, emphasizing its symbolism as an expression of humanism, generosity, peace, and renewal. In their remarks, they also highlighted Uzbekistan’s large-scale reforms, construction projects, and socio-economic development achieved in recent years, with special attention to the construction of the Center of Islamic Civilization and the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex.
The cultural program was diverse and engaging. Guests enjoyed performances of Uzbek folk songs and melodies, masterful renditions of gazal-khons, and enactments of traditional Uzbek wedding ceremonies, including the kelin salom ritual. Participants also received detailed information on the traditions, history, and significance of Navruz in Uzbekistan.
As part of the celebrations, exhibitions of national costumes and photographs were held, alongside demonstrations of traditional games and cultural practices, as well as tastings of Uzbek cuisine. The program generated great interest among attendees and contributed to the broader promotion of Uzbekistan’s unique cultural heritage.
