• 134АNKARA, January 29. /Dunyo IA/. Today, on the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ankara and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and with the support of the Turkish consortium “Anadolu Group”, a presentation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s Address to the Oliy Majlis and the People of Uzbekistan was held in Turkish, alongside a photo album and exhibition titled “Uzbekistan - the enchanted land”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event served as a key platform to present to Turkish society, experts, academics, media representatives and the business community the main priorities of modern Uzbekistan’s development. Participants were introduced to a comprehensive picture of the country’s large-scale reforms, strategic directions for socio-economic development and foreign policy approaches grounded in openness, pragmatism and good-neighborly principles.
It was particularly emphasized that the President’s Address is not only a domestic policy program, but also an important reference for international partners, helping them gain a deeper understanding of Uzbekistan’s transformation logic and long-term development vision.
For Uzbek-Turkish relations, such an event holds special significance in the context of deepening political dialogue and expanding practical cooperation between Türkiye and Uzbekistan, one of Central Asia’s key states. Presenting the Address in Turkish will facilitate a more accurate and substantive understanding of Tashkent’s reform agenda, forming a solid foundation for further expert, humanitarian and business cooperation.
After reviewing the presented information, participants highlighted that Uzbekistan is viewed as a reliable and predictable partner with significant economic, investment and transit potential as well as a key role in ensuring regional stability.
The event held special symbolic significance due to its location at the National Library of the President of Türkiye, “Millet Kütüphanesi” - one of the country’s key intellectual and cultural centers. The library serves as a space where Türkiye’s contemporary humanitarian and strategic agenda is shaped, hosting presentations of conceptual works and international scientific and cultural events. Established as part of a major initiative launched by the Turkish government in 2016, the library officially opened its doors in 2020.
Choosing this venue for the event underscores the high level of attention Türkiye accords to Uzbekistan, as well as recognition of Uzbekistan as a state with a clear strategic vision and a growing role in regional and international affairs.
Equally important is that the President’s Address was presented in Turkish, enabling the direct communication of Uzbekistan’s key ideas and development priorities to a broad Turkish audience - without linguistic or conceptual barriers. Participants emphasized that this approach demonstrates respect for a partner and constitutes an important element of public and cultural diplomacy.
During the event, it was noted that Uzbek-Turkish relations in recent years have shown a stable and positive trajectory. Trade and economic cooperation is actively developing, industrial collaboration is expanding and joint projects are being implemented in sectors such as textiles, food processing, energy, transport and logistics and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Türkiye consistently ranks among Uzbekistan’s leading trade and investment partners. Numerous enterprises with Turkish capital are successfully operating in the country, alongside projects in education, innovation and workforce development.
Humanitarian cooperation also occupies an important place in the bilateral agenda - including cultural exchanges, collaboration between universities and research centers and media partnerships - all of which help strengthen mutual trust and deepen societal ties.
Speakers from the diplomatic corps and expert community emphasized that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s Address reflects the systematic and consistent nature of reforms, aimed at improving citizens’ welfare and ensuring sustainable economic growth.
According to Turkish analysts, the publication of the Message in the Turkish language constitutes an important step in advancing expert engagement and public diplomacy.
Participants were also presented with the photo book and exhibition entitled “Uzbekistan - - the enchanted land”, prepared with the support of the Anadolu Group consortium.
The photo exhibition and accompanying album were described as an effective instrument of “soft power” using powerful visual imagery to showcase Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage, tourism potential and the dynamic transformations taking place across the country.
Through carefully curated photographs, Uzbekistan was portrayed in its most vivid and compelling light, allowing visitors to fully experience the nation’s beauty, cultural depth and spiritual strength.
