New economic opportunities of Uzbekistan presented at the Riksdag of Sweden

• 393STOCKHOLM, May 8. /Dunyo IA/. A business seminar was held at the Riksdag (the Parliament of Sweden), organized by the Embassies of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in Stockholm in cooperation with the Parliamentary Friendship Group for Central Asia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was attended by members of the Riksdag, representatives of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, National Chamber of Commerce and analytical centers, including “Business Sweden”, “ISDP” and “UI”. Representatives from more than 30 Swedish companies were also in attendance.
At the event, the Embassy of Uzbekistan provided information on the ongoing economic reforms in the country, measures to improve the investment climate, and the development of industrial and infrastructure projects, along with opportunities for foreign investors.
Zaur Bek, Advisor to the Director General of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Fund, presented information on joint investment mechanisms and capital attraction. Uzbekistan’s Tourism Ambassador to Sweden, Helena Bergström, highlighted the country’s tourism potential and key travel sectors.
Representatives from the Swedish side, including Björn Söder, Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, Tobias Andersson, Chair of the Riksdag Committee on Industry and Trade, and Svante Cornell, Director of the “ISDP” Institute, noted positive changes in Uzbekistan's business climate in recent years and urged Swedish companies to participate more actively in promising projects in the country.
Following the seminar, the parties agreed to intensify practical cooperation with Swedish business circles, establish a regular business dialogue between entrepreneurs of the two countries, and increase the number of business missions from Sweden to Uzbekistan.
