A meeting with representatives of Ukraine's major businesses held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kyiv

• 218KYIV, May 6. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting featuring leading local entrepreneurs was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was attended by CEOs and top managers of more than 60 leading companies, including “MEGOGO”, “MTI Group”, “UNIT.City”, “MHP”, “Uklon”, “Biosphere”, “Darnitsa” and “Idea Bank” - all of which are listed among the 100 largest companies in Ukraine according to “Forbes” magazine.
Opening the meeting, Ambassador Alisher Kurmanov briefed the participants on the conditions created by the leadership of Uzbekistan for foreign investors, the country's investment attractiveness, and its transport and logistical capabilities.
In particular, the Ukrainian entrepreneurs showed great interest in Uzbekistan's current economic model, the tax and institutional incentives provided to investors, as well as reforms in the fields of information technology and industry.
During the dialogue, particular emphasis was placed on the transparency of tender procedures involving foreign investors in Uzbekistan and the state's fair stance in resolving disputes.
Representatives of “MEGOGO”, “Yuriy-Pharm”, “Uklon” and “Sigma Software”, which are already operating successfully in the Uzbekistan market, expressed interest in further expanding their business activities and increasing their investments.
Ukrainian entrepreneurs emphasized that due to the deep integration of Uzbekistan's economy with Central Asian countries and its broad diversification, they perceive the country as a “land of vast opportunities”.
In particular, Denis Golubchikov, Director of “Sona Pharma”, noted that starting from January 2027, the company intends to take its operations in Uzbekistan to a new level by introducing a modern portfolio of innovative ophthalmology products to the domestic medical market. According to him, the company is already undergoing extensive preparations for its market entry, based on the principles of respect for the local market, long-term strategic planning and the creation of real value for society.
In turn, Sergey Gryshkov, CEO of “Uklon”, emphasized that positive changes in Uzbekistan’s digital economy such as the development of platforms for the self-employed and direct integration systems - foster a high level of investor confidence. According to him, the company has invested over USD 10 million in Tashkent alone, while population growth, the inflow of foreign investment, and a sophisticated fintech infrastructure make Uzbekistan one of the most promising destinations for long-term strategic development.
Gurgen Karapetyan, Export Director of the pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa”, noted that Uzbekistan is one of the most promising and key strategic markets for the company. He stated that despite the complex and strict regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry, the company is currently in the process of registering 27 products in Uzbekistan simultaneously.
Maksym Pochebut, Director of Education at “Sigma Software”, considers Uzbekistan a strategically important market due to the presence of highly qualified personnel and a strong regulatory policy in the IT sector. According to him, the branches of prestigious international universities in Tashkent, along with the high level of English proficiency among the youth, fully meet the company's rigorous engineering requirements.
Petro Mykhailenko, Head of the “Bratslav” Group of Companies, sharing his impressions of a visit to Uzbekistan in April of this year, specifically noted that over the past six years, the country has changed beyond recognition and has transformed into a true industrial hub. According to him, Uzbekistan's achievements in the automotive and tractor industries, as well as the strategy of constructing new plants within localization programs, are deeply impressive.
Andriy Zdesenko, Founder and Head of “Biosphere” Corporation, sharing impressions of his trip to Uzbekistan, noted the country’s dynamic demographic growth and the rapid transformation of the retail sector.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ukrainian entrepreneurs were invited to the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will take place on June 16–18 of this year.
The participants put forward several promising proposals aimed at taking economic cooperation between the two countries to a qualitatively new level.
In turn, Uzbek diplomats expressed their readiness to organize individual meetings with each entrepreneur and provide assistance in supporting their practical projects and implementing investment initiatives.
