Tajik National University hosts presentation of new book on Alisher Navoi’s works

In honour of the 585th anniversary of the great thinker and poet Alisher Navoi, Tajik National University hosted a presentation of Professor Urvatullo Toirov’s book “Ba olam shoiron sohibzamonand” (“In the World, Poets are the asters of Time”), written in the Tajik language, the work is dedicated to Navoi’s treatise “Majalis un-Nafais”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
A recent publication dedicated to the “Majolis un-nafois” tazkira has attracted interest from scholars and students of philology studying the history, theory and aesthetics of 15th-century poetry.
The presentation was attended by Ergash Shaismatov, Dean Emomali Sirojiddinov, university faculty members and student researchers.
University professors highlighted the significance of Alisher Navoi in medieval literature and his role as a bridge between Turkish and Persian poetry. Special attention was given to the enduring friendship between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, exemplified by the literary companionship of Navoi and Jami, reflecting the motto: “Shared History - Shared Future”.
In his address, Ambassador Shaismatov emphasized initiatives by the leaders of both countries aimed at strengthening cooperation in science, culture, education and the humanities, fostering closer ties between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
