Outcomes of the VII Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State in Tashkent Presented in Geneva

GENEVA, December 13. /Dunyo IA/. Under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan, a presentation was held in Geneva summarizing the outcomes of the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States, which took place on 16 November in Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was attended by representatives from Central Asian countries, as well as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Hungary, the European Union, Iran, China, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, the Czech Republic, Sudan, Turkey and others.

The panel included Permanent Representatives of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as the temporary representative of Turkmenistan.

In their remarks, they highlighted the importance of the Consultative Meetings, now held for the seventh time, noting their sustainability as an effective regional dialogue mechanism.

Participants also praised the high level of organization of the event in Tashkent, emphasizing that the substantive sessions were rich, productive, and enabled discussion on a wide range of issues, including regional security, economic cooperation, and humanitarian initiatives.

Special attention was given to initiatives proposed by Uzbekistan during the November meeting:

An institutional approach to further developing this format of meetings;

Adoption of the Regional Development Program through 2035;

Establishment of a common investment space;

Development of joint infrastructure and logistics projects;

Implementation of measures to promote educational and cultural cooperation among Central Asian countries.

Participants noted that these initiatives contribute to strengthening trust, improving coordination, and creating conditions for the sustainable development of the entire region.

In particular, Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative, Galeb Israfilov, emphasized that this format allows heads of state to timely exchange views on pressing issues, coordinate positions on key areas of cooperation, and jointly develop solutions aimed at strengthening peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region. He noted that the regularity of these meetings is an important factor in consolidating efforts amid changing international circumstances and increasing cross-border challenges.

Kazakhstan’s Permanent Representative, Erzhan Kazakhan, also highlighted that expanding cooperation within this format contributes to deepening economic collaboration, enhancing transport connectivity, jointly promoting regional initiatives on the international stage, and developing humanitarian and educational ties. He added that Azerbaijan’s involvement in the format opens new opportunities for expanding cooperation between Central Asia and the South Caucasus, providing additional momentum for major infrastructure projects, the creation of new logistics corridors, and strengthening energy security.

Permanent Representatives of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan reaffirmed their commitment to further developing the consultative mechanism and expressed their readiness to continue constructive work on its institutional strengthening.

Deike Potzel, Permanent Representative of the European Union in Geneva, underlined the importance of the Consultative Meetings of Central Asian countries and highlighted their significant contribution to strengthening regional dialogue and trust. She noted that the mechanism demonstrates the maturity of the region’s political institutions, the willingness of countries to openly discuss pressing issues, and the commitment to solutions based on collective responsibility and a shared vision for the future.

The EU representative also emphasized that the European Union views the Consultative Meetings as a unique regional platform that enhances resilience, expands economic opportunities, and strengthens multilateral ties.
