Vietnam confirms readiness to deepen strategic partnership with Uzbekistan

HANOI, December 13. /Dunyo IA/. Yesterday, Oybek Eshonov, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan (based in Jakarta), presented his letters of credence to Lương Cường, President of Vietnam, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During a brief conversation held as part of the official ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi, the Vietnamese leader requested that he convey his deep respect and best wishes to the President of Uzbekistan. He emphasized Vietnam’s high regard for the existing bilateral friendly relations and expressed his country’s interest in further developing them.
According to him, Government of Vietnam considers Uzbekistan a reliable and priority partner in Central Asia.
President noted that, despite the geographical distance, bilateral cooperation between the two countries continues to develop steadily. He also highlighted that Vietnam serves as a unique bridge connecting Uzbekistan to countries in the Asia-Pacific region and is ready to expand mutually beneficial relations.
Both sides emphasized the significant potential for enhancing Uzbekistan-Vietnam cooperation in trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Vietnamese President praised Uzbekistan’s achievements in socio-economic development, the results of ongoing reforms, and the broad-scale transformations taking place in the country.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Lương Cường, on behalf of the leadership of the Communist Party, Government and the people of Vietnam, wished the Republic of Uzbekistan continued progress, sustainable development and prosperity.
It is worth noting that Ambassador Oybek Eshonov presented his letters of credence to the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, in Jakarta on 4 November 2024. Since March 2025, he has been accredited as Permanent Representative to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
