Number of Uzbek Nationals studying abroad continues to fall

ТASHKENT, December 15. /Dunyo IA/. The number of Uzbek citizens traveling abroad for education from January to October 2025 reached 26,400, representing a nearly 19% decrease compared to the previous year, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the most popular destinations among Uzbeks are countries in the CIS and Asia.

Russia leads with 5,863 people, followed by Tajikistan with 5,761 and Kyrgyzstan with 3,835.

Among other destinations are South Korea (3,344), Turkiye (2,256), China (1,186), Kazakhstan (1,014), the United Kingdom (839), Germany (366), and the United States (318).

Experts note that the decline in outbound travel is linked to changes in international educational programs, as well as the strengthening of Uzbekistan’s domestic educational capacity.
