Uzbekistan and German state of Hesse discuss prospects for cooperation in migration and employment sectors

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, April 14. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Heike Hofmann, Hessian State Minister for Labor, Integration, Youth and Social Affairs, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the conversation, the current state of Uzbek-German relations and prospects for their development at the regional level were discussed in detail, along with issues of expanding practical cooperation in the areas of migration, labour market, social protection, migrant integration and youth policy.
Special attention was paid to expanding cooperation with local authorities to support compatriots residing in Germany, as well as to facilitate their legal and social protection, employment and adaptation.
During the meeting, Heike Hofmann provided information on the activities of “Welcome Centers” operating in several cities across the state of Hesse. These centers offer labour migrants free consultations, legal assistance and employment support.
The parties also considered possibilities for attracting qualified personnel from Uzbekistan in response to demographic shifts in Germany and the growing demand for specialists in elderly care, healthcare and other social professions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in the further development of cooperation.
