Ambassador of Uzbekistan meets with Lieutenant Governor of Indian Capital

NEW DELHI, July 3. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambaev has met with the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, it was noted with satisfaction that the centuries-old friendly relations between the peoples of Uzbekistan and India have been substantively enriched and have received consistent development in recent years.
In the multifaceted relations between the two states, the significance of interregional ties is increasingly rising. On this basis, particular attention was paid to the prospects for further activating cooperation between representatives of business, scientific-academic and other circles of the capitals of the two nations.
Within the framework of interregional cooperation, the sides discussed the possibility of establishing sister-city relations between the capitals of the two nations. It was emphasized that the exchange of experience in municipal management, urban landscaping and greening, the creation of convenient and modern infrastructure for the population and other pressing issues would be both of interest and mutually beneficial for both sides.
Taranjit Singh Sandhu supported the proposals put forward by the Embassy to establish an “Uzbekistan” park in Delhi and to erect a monument dedicated to Alisher Navoi, one of the great thinkers of the Uzbek people, expressing his full readiness to undertake collaborative efforts for the implementation of these projects.
Sides exchanged views on arranging delegation exchanges between the Khokimiyat of Tashkent and the Delhi Lieutenant Governor's administration, developing joint projects for local implementation, and organizing diverse collaborative events in the fields of science, culture, tourism, sports and other areas, as well as on other issues of mutual interest.
