• 144BERLIN, October 26. /Dunyo IA/. “Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference”, dedicated to the country's IT potential, was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Event was organized with the assistance of the Embassy by the “IT Park Uzbekistan” agency in cooperation with the German Eastern Business Association (Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft). It was attended by executives from over 70 IT companies operating in Germany, entrepreneurs, experts and local journalists. A delegation led by the management of “IT Park Uzbekistan” arrived from Uzbekistan.
Ambassador Dilshod Akhatov elaborated on the achievements in the field of IT and digitalization, as well as the favourable conditions established for foreign companies and investors. He invited German enterprises to actively participate in the market of Uzbekistan. Chief Operating Officer of “IT Park Uzbekistan” Azamat Karamatov, detailed the park's operations, “Zero Risk” program, tax incentives, IT visas, talent pool potential and the practical experiences of German companies entering the Uzbek market. Michael Harms, Managing Director of the German Eastern Business Association, noted the expansion of ties between the business circles of the two nations and highlighted the high potential for cooperation in integrating artificial intelligence into manufacturing, IT services, and industrial outsourcing.
In the second part, a panel session titled “Uzbekistan and Germany: Shaping a New Partnership in Global Services” was held. German companies already collaborating with “IT Park Uzbekistan” presented their results, and the delegation conducted B2B meetings with a number of major German enterprises. “IT Park Uzbekistan” and the language training company “Berlitz Deutschland GmbH” signed a memorandum of understanding on training IT Park specialists in foreign languages, primarily German.
Theresa Brox, Director of Language Testing and Assessment at “Berlitz Deutschland GmbH”:
- I am impressed by Uzbekistan's rapid economic growth and its youthful demographic, with approximately 64% of the population under the age of 35. Since 2022, in collaboration with our Tashkent partners, we have trained around 900 nurses and caregivers in the German language and intercultural communication to prepare them for employment in Germany. About half of them have already commenced their work. Jointly with IT Park, we plan to develop new retraining and professional development programs. Today, professional skills alone are insufficient; language proficiency and intercultural competencies are equally essential.
Jens Zimmermann, Partner at “MTR Consulting”:
- I have never been to Uzbekistan, but at the conference, I received detailed information about the country's capabilities in the IT sphere and held initial negotiations with company representatives. I am confident that in the near future, we will organize meetings in Tashkent or another city and translate this dialogue into practical cooperation.
Gufrón Atto, Founder and CEO of “AttoLab GmbH”:
- In my address, I elaborated on how European companies can effectively collaborate with teams of Uzbek software engineers, how to initiate such cooperation, and how to build it on mutual benefit. I shared our experiences, including mistakes and methods to overcome them, and discussed cultural differences. These are successfully resolved through open dialogue and mutual understanding. I stand ready to advise companies wishing to establish cooperation with Uzbekistan.
