TOKYO, June 5. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mukhsinkhodja Abdurakhmonov, met with Shinji Inoue, a member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the conversation, the sides discussed the current state of Uzbek-Japanese relations, prospects for their further development, and issues of interparliamentary cooperation.
The lawmaker fondly recalled his visit to Uzbekistan in May of this year as part of a delegation led by Arfiya Eri, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan. He noted that the trip made a profound impression on him. According to him, Uzbekistan's rich historical and cultural heritage, dynamic economic development, and high potential deserve special attention.
Shinji Inoue noted the activities of the Japan - Uzbekistan Parliamentary Friendship League, emphasizing its important role as one of the key mechanisms for strengthening bilateral relations. He also expressed his intention to take an active part in the league's work in the future.
Following the meeting, the sides confirmed their interest in further strengthening Uzbek-Japanese relations across various areas and agreed to maintain regular working contacts.
