Ambassador of Uzbekistan Meets with Japanese Parliament Member in Tokyo

TOKYO, May 27. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mukhsinkhodja Abdurakhmonov met with Keiji Furuya, a member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbek-Japanese relations, as well as issues related to the further development of interparliamentary cooperation.

The Japanese lawmaker noted that the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Japan in December 2025 had elevated bilateral relations to a new stage. It was also emphasized that the first “Central Asia + Japan” summit at the highest level created an important foundation for strengthening cooperation with the countries of the region.

During the conversation, both sides expressed satisfaction with the consistent development of interparliamentary interaction.

The parties also exchanged views on expanding interregional ties, continuing cooperation in the field of healthcare, and organizing joint events in 2027 to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue close cooperation aimed at further expanding Uzbek-Japanese relations across various fields.
