The number of Uzbek citizens traveling abroad for study is decreasing

TASHKENT, May 15. /Dunyo IA/. In January-March 2026, 5th, 862 citizens of Uzbekistan traveled abroad for study purposes, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the National Statistical Committee, this is 1.6 thousand people, or 21.2 percent less than in the same period last year. Experts attribute this trend to the expanding opportunities for obtaining high-quality education within the country, as well as the growing number of joint international programs in domestic universities.

The most popular study destinations among citizens of Uzbekistan were:

Russia - 1,241 people

Republic of Korea - 1,131 people

Kyrgyzstan - 1,059 people

China - 424 people

Türkiye - 423 people

Tajikistan - 381 people

United Kingdom - 292 people

Other countries - 911 people
