President of Russia appoints New Ambassador to Uzbekistan

ТASHKENT, September 5. /Dunyo IA/. The President of the Russia Vladimir Putin,, has today signed a presidential decree appointing Alexey Yerkhov as Ambassador to Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Russia to Tashkent is 64 years old. A graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), he has been engaged in diplomatic service since 1983. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held postings in Morocco, Egypt, Israel, Turkiye, as well as in the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russia. From 2017 to 2025, he served as the Ambassador of the Russia to Turkiye.
He speaks Arabic, English, and French and holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
Alexey Yerkhov will replace Oleg Malginov, who headed the Embassy in Tashkent from 2021-2025.
