KAPOLNASNYEK, June 4. /Dunyo IA/. With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary, a photo exhibition by Hungarian photojournalist Sandor Ujvari dedicated to Uzbekistan has opened at the Carpathian School of Folk Arts in the town of Kapolnasnyek, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The exhibition presents the audience with the cultural, historical, and spiritual heritage of Uzbekistan as seen through the lens of a professional photojournalist. Ujvari has successfully captured the unique atmosphere of ancient cities, the richness of traditions, and the everyday life of the Uzbek people. Special attention in his works is devoted to the architectural landmarks of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, as well as portraits of masters of traditional applied arts.
During the opening ceremony, Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament Sandor Lezsak delivered remarks, emphasizing the importance of cultural dialogue between the peoples of Hungary and Uzbekistan and expressing gratitude to the author for his contribution to fostering mutual understanding and friendship. He highlighted the figure of Mullah Sadiq — an outstanding representative of the Uzbek people who lived in the city of Velence. Lezsak described him as a unique personality who spoke seven languages and over ten dialects, combining deep respect for Hungarian folk traditions with devotion to Islam and his historical homeland. He referred to Mullah Sodiq as a great people's ambassador of Uzbekistan and a symbol of cultural understanding between the two nations.
A welcome address was also delivered by Laszlo Simon, member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, renowned public figure and cultural expert, who praised the artistic value of the works on display and expressed hope for further development of cultural exchanges between the two countries.
These historically rooted ties between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Hungary continue today through modern humanitarian initiatives, which contribute to the strengthening of cultural understanding and the development of strategic partnership between the two nations.
