Delegation of Uzbekistan held a series of meetings in the Austrian capital aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector

TASHKENT, June 5. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Alisher Shukurov and Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Munira Aminova held bilateral meetings in Vienna with the Technical Assistance Department of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Austrian Ministry of Finance, the Austrian Agricultural Cluster, and the Parliament of Austria, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the MFA, they also participated in the opening ceremony of the Austrian Economic Chamber’s annual conference.

At the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussions were held regarding the policy and experience of the Austrian Development Agency in providing financial and technical assistance to the agricultural sector.

During the opening ceremony of the Austrian Economic Chamber’s annual conference, a brief conversation took place with Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, Austria’s Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, and Harald Marer, President of the Austrian Economic Chamber. The Austrian side encouraged their companies to strengthen trade and economic relations with Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the delegation held a meeting at the Austrian Ministry of Finance dedicated to cooperation between Uzbekistan and Austria in the agricultural sector.

Austrian companies expressed their readiness to implement several projects related to innovative agriculture, product processing, livestock breeding, and the establishment of agro-clusters. It was agreed to organize business missions to study opportunities in Uzbekistan.

The parties emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of education. It was agreed to establish scientific and academic exchanges with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) in the field of agriculture.

The delegation also held meaningful dialogue with representatives of the Austrian Parliament and the leadership of the Austrian Farmers’ Association. Arrangements were made to organize a visit of Austrian deputies to Uzbekistan.
