Advisor to the President of France appointed as new Ambassador to Uzbekistan

TASHKENT, September 4. /Dunyo IA/. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, today received the new Ambassador of France, Walid Fouque, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

"Received the copies of credentials from newly appointed Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan H.E. Walid Fouque, – the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan wrote in his telegram-channel. – Uzbekistan-France bilateral relations have rich historical foundation, showed unprecedented dynamics, elevated to the level of strategic partnership. Today, we see intense exchanges in all areas - from economy to culture. Still, there is even more potential our diplomats must join their efforts to realize.

The 38-year-old diplomat Walid Fouque, who previously served as Advisor to the President of France on Asia, Oceania, and the Americas, has succeeded Aurelia Bouchez, who led the Embassy in Tashkent from 2021 to 2025. For her significant contributions to strengthening bilateral relations of friendship and strategic partnership, she was awarded the "Dustlik" order by the President of Uzbekistan.
