ANKARA, August 1. /Dunyo IA/. Yunus Emre Kanat, Chairman of the Board of the Center for Strategic Research and Development (Türkiye), shared his assessment with Dunyo IA of the outcomes of the Uzbek–Kyrgyz summit, held in Cholpon-Ata on July 30:

- The state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan is further evidence that Central Asia is steadily transitioning to a new model of regional cooperation. Whereas only a few years ago the countries of the region were primarily focused on resolving long-standing issues, today increasing emphasis is being placed on joint infrastructure projects, transport connectivity, energy cooperation, and industrial collaboration. It is no coincidence that the key events of the visit are taking place in Cholpon-Ata, which in recent years has increasingly become a platform for discussing issues that will shape the region's long-term development.

The documents signed following the negotiations demonstrate that cooperation between Tashkent and Bishkek is becoming increasingly systematic and comprehensive. Of particular significance is the advancement of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project. This route has the potential not only to expand trade opportunities for the three countries but also to reshape the logistics landscape of Central Asia by strengthening its role in Eurasian transport corridors. At the same time, cooperation is advancing in the fields of energy, industry, cross-border trade, and interregional ties, laying a solid foundation for sustainable long-term economic growth.

From Türkiye's perspective, the policies pursued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev have become one of the key factors transforming the internal dynamics of Central Asia. Through a strategy centered on open dialogue, confidence-building, and good-neighborly relations, the region is gradually shifting from addressing the challenges of the past to implementing joint projects that will define its future. Today, the countries of Central Asia increasingly view one another not as competitors, but as partners committed to enhancing regional connectivity and promoting shared development.

For Türkiye, this transformation is of strategic importance. Stronger cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan creates additional opportunities for the development of the Middle Corridor, the expansion of trade and economic ties, and the implementation of joint initiatives within the Turkic world. Therefore, the current state visit should be viewed not only as a significant milestone in bilateral relations, but also as another important step toward building a more integrated, resilient, and interconnected Central Asia.
