FERNEY-VOLTAIRE, March 28. /Dunyo IA/. In the historic French city of Ferney-Voltaire, Navruz - the ancient festival of spring and renewal was celebrated, gathering hundreds of guests, including both French residents and our compatriots, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event opened with a fashion show featuring traditional Uzbek outfits and modern interpretations of national clothing. Guests were particularly captivated by a reenactment of the Kelin Salom (bride's greeting ritual), which offered a glimpse into Uzbekistan's rich family traditions.

Guests enjoyed vibrant dances and a tasting of traditional Uzbek dishes. Fragrant pilaf, samsa, flatbreads and sweets created a true festive atmosphere. A booth featuring Uzbek applied arts - including traditional clothing, souvenirs and decorative items showcasing the country's craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage drew particular interest.

In his speech, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Nodir Ganiev extended warm congratulations to the guests, spoke about the significance of Navruz and highlighted Uzbekistan’s rich history and culture. He also invited his French friends to visit the country in person to experience its traditions and landmarks firsthand.

French guests expressed sincere admiration for the event's organization and hospitality. For the Uzbek diaspora in France, the occasion was particularly meaningful: despite the distance from their homeland, they felt the warmth and spirit of Uzbekistan.
