Uzbek Miniature Art Exhibition opens in Shanghai

SHANGHAI, March 28. /Dunyo IA/. A grand opening ceremony for the exhibition “The World in Miniature: The Art of the Brushstroke in Miniature Painting and Gongbi Painting” was held at the Shanghai Art Collection Museum, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was organized as part of the further strengthening of Uzbek-Chinese cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Participants included representatives from the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism, Shanghai People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office, Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and Kamoliddin Behzod State Museum of Oriental Miniature Art.

Uzbek delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Academy of Arts Akmal Nur. It included Museum Director Gulabza Karshieva, renowned miniature artists Davron Toshev, Khayriddin Mukhitdinov and Bekhzod Khojimetov, as well as art historians Asalkhon Rakhmatullaeva and Zilola Askarova.

As part of the exhibition, a special section dedicated to the Uzbek art of miniature was presented. it showcases a collection of unique works created by leading artists of Uzbekistan. Notably, more than 50 exhibits from the collection of the Kamoliddin Behzod State Museum of Oriental Miniature Art are being displayed abroad for the first time.

The miniature works, reflecting the richness of national traditions and a unique aesthetic, sparked great interest among the exhibition visitors.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, museum director Hu Muchin noted that the Uzbek school of miniature was shaped by thousands of years of history, architectural heritage, rich ceramic traditions, and a deep philosophical worldview.

Participants emphasized that this exhibition has become an important step in strengthening the cultural and humanitarian dialogue between Uzbekistan and China, while also opening new opportunities for developing cooperation in the arts and interregional ties.
