One of Pakistan’s largest business conglomerates considers launching production in Uzbekistan

LAHORE, April 23. /Dunyo IA/. As part of a working visit to Lahore, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev held talks with Ali Mukhtar, Executive Director of “Fatima Group”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Established in 1936, Fatima Group is one of the largest business conglomerates in Pakistan. The company operates in the fields of chemical fertilizer production, textiles, sugar manufacturing, energy, packaging, mining, and trade. In 2025, its annual turnover amounted to USD 2 billion. The company owns 10 mineral fertilizer production plants and more than 70 warehouses across the country.
During the meeting, parties discussed expanding investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. It was noted that Uzbekistan is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for foreign investors.
Special attention was paid to the prospects for implementing joint projects in the pharmaceutical, textile, mining and chemical industries.
Ali Mukhtar announced the company's intention to conduct marketing research of the Uzbek market and further consider the possibility of establishing a manufacturing enterprise within the country.
It is also noted that representatives of “Fatima Group” visited the Namangan region in 2023 to explore investment opportunities. Currently, this project remains among the company's priority areas. Furthermore, negotiations are ongoing with the khokimiyat (administration) of the Navoi region regarding the implementation of investment projects.
The parties discussed the possibility of establishing high-tech pharmaceutical production, exporting products to the countries of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, as well as implementing joint projects in the mining industry. The prospects for developing large-scale production facilities in the chemical and textile sectors were also reviewed.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold online negotiations with the participation of relevant agencies for the detailed development of cooperation areas.
