As part of the program, Uzbek entrepreneurs visited palm plantations owned by major Malaysian companies, where they familiarized themselves with harvesting processes and raw material processing. The delegation also toured palm oil production facilities and scientific laboratories.
During the visit, representatives of Uzbek companies held B2B meetings with major Malaysian producers and distributors with extensive plantations, processing capacities, and storage infrastructure. These included SD Guthrie Berhad, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad, IOI Group, Wilmar International, and SOP Foods.
The primary objective of the negotiations was to establish direct cooperation between producers of the two countries to ensure year-round, uninterrupted supplies of raw materials for Uzbekistan’s food industry, including confectionery, bakery products, dairy goods, as well as the production of mayonnaise, sauces, and margarine.
Following the talks, agreements were reached on establishing specialized warehouse complexes in Uzbekistan, creating strategic reserves of palm oil, and ensuring stable supply chains for domestic enterprises. In addition, the parties agreed to implement joint projects for the deep processing of palm oil, with subsequent production of margarine, confectionery fats, and soap granules.
