Ambassador of Uzbekistan meets with the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, June 6. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev met with Haroon Akhtar Khan, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Industries and Production and Minister of Industries and Production, reports Dunyo IA correspondent .

During the talks, the parties discussed the further strengthening of strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, and priority areas of bilateral cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to expanding industrial cooperation, increasing trade and economic interaction, and developing transport, transit, and logistics cooperation. The parties also focused on implementing joint energy projects and exploring prospective partnership opportunities in the geological and pharmaceutical sectors.

Haroon Akhtar Khan noted that the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Pakistan in February of this year was an important historical event in relations between the two countries.

“The foresight, strategic thinking, and high political level of the President of Uzbekistan deeply impressed me”, - he emphasized. "We also attach great importance to the large-scale reforms consistently implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of the head of state, which are aimed at modernizing the economy, ensuring sustainable economic growth, improving the population's well-being and strengthening regional cooperation. Uzbekistan's rich experience in these areas is of great importance for Pakistan as well.

In addition, the possibility of importing live cattle into Uzbekistan from Pakistan was reviewed. The meeting participants noted that cooperation in this area would contribute to ensuring the food security of both nations and further strengthening interaction in the field of agriculture.

Particular emphasis was placed on the important role of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be held in the capital of Uzbekistan from June 16th to 18th this year, in further deepening Uzbek-Pakistani economic and investment cooperation, developing new joint projects, and intensifying business contacts.

The parties expressed confidence that the active high-level participation of the Pakistani delegation in this prestigious international economic forum will elevate the trade, economic and investment partnership between the two nations to a qualitatively new stage of development.
