ATYRAU, September 23. /Dunyo IA/.  Consul General of Uzbekistan in Aktau Jamoliddinkhuja Abdukarimov met with the Akim (Governor) of the Atyrau region of Kazakhstan, Bolat Akchulakov, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed options for increasing the volume of mutual trade, expanding the range of goods, developing direct contacts between entrepreneurs and implementing new investment projects.

The sides also discussed the expansion of air and road connectivity, cargo transportation, and transport-logistic capabilities between the regions.

A separate meeting was held with representatives of the “Atameken” Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs. Participants discussed cooperation in tourism, support for Uzbek entrepreneurs, increasing exports and the creation of a trading house of Uzbekistan in the Atyrau region.

It was noted that in 2025, the trade turnover of the Atyrau region with the regions of Uzbekistan amounted to $90.8 million and there are 296 enterprises with Uzbek capital operating in the region.

A business forum with the participation of entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan is scheduled to take place in the Atyrau region this October. The parties agreed to facilitate the participation of Uzbek businesses and exchange additional information regarding the upcoming event.
