ROME, July 6. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullayev met with Regina Corradini, Chief Executive Officer of Italy’s State Investment Agency SIMEST, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to stimulate investment activity by Italian companies in Uzbekistan, establish practical cooperation following previous business missions, utilize co-financing mechanisms, and strengthen ties between the business communities of the two countries.

Regina Corradini noted the dynamic development of Italian-Uzbek economic cooperation, emphasizing that “Uzbekistan is one of our key partners not only in Central Asia, but across the East”.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to hold an Uzbekistan–Italy Business Forum in Rome before the end of the year, with the participation of representatives of companies from both countries.

The sides also exchanged views on reviewing specific investment plans of Italian companies interested in the Uzbek market, identifying local partners for them, organizing B2B online meetings, and exploring opportunities to establish joint ventures, make direct investments, and open representative offices in Uzbekistan.

The main objective of the upcoming forum will be to develop mechanisms for joint investment and financing of projects implemented by Italian companies in Uzbekistan. In particular, the parties plan to explore the use of SIMEST instruments to support the international expansion of Italian companies, as well as the potential of joint investment funds.
