PRAGUE, September 16. /Dunyo IA/.   Prague hosted the “Sogdiana” exhibition by Italian artist Tiziano Marasco, dedicated to Uzbekistan and the author's impressions of his journey through the country in 2025, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Exhibition featured works created in various artistic techniques and styles. They depict Khiva, Samarkand, Bukhara and Tashkent, the roads between the cities, desert landscapes, as well as the modern urban environment.

According to the artist, during his trip, he was particularly intrigued by the combination of Uzbekistan's centuries-old national traditions and cultural identity with the country's dynamic economic and industrial development. This contrast, Marasco noted, became the source of inspiration for creating the series of works.

Tiziano Marasco was born in 1985 in Udine, Italy, and currently resides in Prague, where he works as an independent journalist and artist. He has been painting since 2004, focusing on urban landscapes, industrial areas, railways and suburbs, through which he seeks to convey an emotional perception of place.

Opening ceremony was attended by Uzbek diplomats. With their support, guests were also presented with samples of Uzbek national art and culture, including traditional musical instruments, handicrafts, and national attire.

As part of the event, an Uzbek doira player performed live national music. The demonstration of handicrafts and traditional costumes complemented the art exhibition by introducing the guests to the applied arts, customs, and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.

In his address on the occasion of the Independence Day of Uzbekistan, Tiziano Marasco congratulated the Uzbek people and shared the story behind the creation of the series of paintings following his trip to the country.

“A year ago, I visited your beautiful country, Uzbekistan. The impressions from this journey inspired me to create a series of paintings in various styles”, artist noted.
