“London Post”: Uzbekistan strengthens environmental agenda at Astana Summit

LONDON, April 28. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbekistan presented its environmental initiatives at the Astana summit and strengthened its position as a key participant in Central Asia's “green transition”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with the British news portal “London Post”.
During the summit, the primary focus was on issues of climate change, water scarcity, and land degradation. Participants noted that environmental challenges in Central Asia are transboundary in nature and require joint solutions.
A separate session was dedicated to the “green” transition as a key direction for the region's development. Discussions covered the potential for implementing renewable energy, modernizing industry, and increasing the efficiency of natural resource management.
“Uzbekistan showcased ongoing environmental programs at the event, with a special emphasis on initiatives for urban greening, air quality, ecological culture and the restoration of Aral Sea ecosystems, - according to the portal. - These efforts highlight a significant commitment to regional ecological improvement”.
During the summit, participants also discussed expanding cooperation with international financial institutions to implement environmental projects and attract investment into the region's “green” economy.
