KUWAIT, April 30. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbekistan stands as a reliable partner for Kuwait in strengthening food security and offers expanded cooperation in diversifying food import sources, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with the Kuwaiti newspaper “Al-Jarida”.

It is noted that food security and supply diversification remains a priority for Middle Eastern countries, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic and global supply chain disruptions.

In November 2025, Kuwait adopted the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) food security strategy, aimed at strengthening supply stability, simplifying customs procedures and developing logistics.

“Uzbekistan possesses significant potential in the agricultural sector. In 2025, 26.7 million tons of agricultural products were produced, including vegetables, fruits, potatoes, melons and grapes, - the publication states. - A package of over 80 types of products from 22 Uzbek brands has been developed for the Kuwaiti market, including meat products, confectionery, dried fruits, frozen goods, spices and canned food”.

The parties are also considering organizing new exhibitions and festivals in Uzbekistan and Kuwait, as well as expanding the participation of Kuwaiti importers in industry-specific events.

Special attention is paid to investment cooperation. A 940-hectare greenhouse complex project is being implemented in the Surkhandarya region. Large areas in the Samarkand and Jizzakh regions have been allocated for agriculture and livestock, with the potential to export products to Kuwait.

The publication emphasizes that Uzbekistan invites Kuwaiti partners to actively participate in joint projects in the agricultural and food sectors.
