“MENAFN”: Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan strengthen strategic partnership and build a new Eurasian economic bridge

AMMAN, August 24. /Dunyo IA/. International online publication “MENAFN” has published articles on the dynamic development of trade, economic, investment and agricultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publications note that Baku and Tashkent are demonstrating a modern model of regional partnership that encompasses not only the exchange of goods, but also the movement of capital, technology, energy and infrastructure capabilities. The economies of the two countries are complementary: Uzbekistan has strong industrial and market potential in Central Asia, while Azerbaijan provides access via the Caspian Sea to the markets of the South Caucasus and Europe. Bilateral trade turnover is growing rapidly, increasing more than threefold in 2025 to $795 million, with positive momentum continuing in 2026. The partnership is increasingly moving into the investment sphere through the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company, with capital of $500 million.

Practical dimension of cooperation covers a wide range of areas. Joint industrial projects for the production of “Chevrolet” vehicles and “Isuzu” buses are being successfully implemented, with production volumes reaching 10,720 and 275 units, respectively, by mid-2026. In the energy sector, traditional oil and gas cooperation is being complemented by new initiatives, such as the joint venture “Turan Energy AFEZCO” and “Green Energy Corridor Alliance”, established jointly with Kazakhstan to export green energy via an electricity transmission route under the Caspian Sea. Transport connectivity plays an important role, with transit shipments continuing to grow and strengthening the position of the Middle Corridor. Mutual investment covers dozens of companies, as well as major projects in the tourism and hospitality sectors, including “Ritz-Carlton” and “Sea Breeze Uzbekistan” complexes.

“Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are gradually building economic relations in which not only goods, but also capital, energy resources and infrastructure capabilities move across borders, turning their partnership into an important economic bridge between Central Asia and the Eurasian market”, “MENAFN” concludes.
