RIYADH, June 8. /Dunyo IA/.  The Saudi news agency “Swift Newz” reported on the commencement of construction of Uzbekistan's first nuclear power plant in the Jizzakh region, highlighting the project's significance for the development of the country's energy sector, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

It is noted that the implementation of the project marks a new stage of technological, industrial, and scientific development, forming the foundation for nuclear energy in the country. The project integrates small modular and large-scale nuclear generation technologies and is being implemented in accordance with modern international standards under IAEA oversight.

The base construction cost of the integrated nuclear power plant is approximately 9.5 billion dollars. “Swift Newz” IA highlights the project as one of Uzbekistan's key energy initiatives.
