ISLAMABAD, March 19. /Dunyo IA/. The popular Pakistani publication “The Nation” has published an article about the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, describing it as a “mega-project recognized by the world community”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
As the newspaper recalls, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Center in January 2025 and provided recommendations on incorporating scientific and innovative projects, developed by more than two thousand local and foreign scholars, into the complex's exhibitions. Over the past year, the building's construction has been completed, and the content of the exhibits has been significantly expanded with the involvement of specialists and designers from more than 40 countries.
It is noted that in September 2025, President announced at a high-level UN meeting the completion of the Center's construction and its upcoming opening.
“Today, the complex has become a unique platform where guests from different countries, as well as heads of state and international organizations, can familiarize themselves with scientific projects dedicated to civilizations, great personalities and discoveries”, - publication states.
The material quotes UN Secretary-General António Guterres: “President Shavkat Mirziyoyev consistently promotes the ideas of dialogue, enlightenment and mutual respect from the high rostrum of the UN”. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also praised the project, emphasizing its significance for science, tourism and ethnocultural development.
“The Nation” underlines that the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent is not merely an infrastructure project or a symbol of cultural policy, but a deliberate civilizational response to modern global challenges.
