An Iftar organized in Cairo for compatriots on the occasion of the month of Ramadan

CAIRO, March 13. /Dunyo IA/. On March 11, Embassy of Uzbekistan organized an Iftar in the Egyptian capital for compatriots on the occasion of the Holy month of Ramadan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was attended by about 400 compatriots temporarily residing and working in Egypt, including elderly people, individuals in need of social support, students, young scientists and families living abroad.

At the Iftar, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mansurbek Kilichev, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the participants on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan. He emphasized that this Holy month holds special significance for purifying the human soul, strengthening mercy and mutual assistance and promoting noble qualities such as generosity and tolerance.

It was also noted that, as stated in the greeting of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the occasion of Ramadan, this month is a time for calling people to goodness, providing aid to those in need and strengthening peace, harmony and unity in society.

Detailed information was presented regarding the constant attention and care the leadership of our country provides to citizens of Uzbekistan living abroad, particularly in Egypt, as well as the consular and legal assistance offered and the ongoing work to protect their rights and interests. It was emphasized that maintaining continuous contact with compatriots, addressing their problems, and listening to their proposals is one of the key pillars of state policy.

To further enrich the spiritual experience of the compatriots, Hasan Kodirov, Imam-Khatib of the “Siroj Solikh” mosque in Tashkent, who arrived from Uzbekistan, participated in the event. He spoke about the virtues of the month of Ramadan, its role in nurturing the human soul and spirituality and the significance of values such as mercy, patience, unity and gratitude in life.

Additionally, a short interview was organized during the event with Akbar Ismoilov, head of the Association of Uzbek Students in Egypt. In his remarks, he noted that compatriots abroad are never overlooked by the state and that during the month of Ramadan, such events provide an opportunity for fellow citizens to connect and feel a spiritual atmosphere. He emphasized that enlightening discussions featuring religious scholars hold special significance for the compatriot community.

At the same time, on behalf of the compatriots, sincere gratitude was expressed for the work being carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to uphold human dignity, promote mercy and charity, and strengthen the atmosphere of tolerance and mutual respect within society. It was noted that compatriots living abroad also support the reforms being implemented in the country toward state development and improving the people's well-being.

The participants welcomed the event with great satisfaction. It provided them with an opportunity to experience the warm atmosphere of Ramadan among fellow citizens and to feel even closer to national traditions and spiritual values.

At the conclusion of the event, a festive dastarkhan featuring national dishes was prepared for the guests. The Iftar concluded in an atmosphere of sincere communication, mutual respect and unity.
