Pakistani media: Tashkent prepares for second session of the Termez Dialogue on Central and South Asia Connectivity

Pakistan’s popular magazine The Diplomatic Insight and the online publication The World News have published articles announcing the upcoming Second Session of the Termez Dialogue on Connectivity between Central and South Asia, scheduled to take place in Tashkent from June 4–6, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The publications note that the event will be held under the theme “Peace, Connectivity, Resilience: Building a Foundation for Shared Prosperity”. It is emphasized that the Termez Dialogue was established in 2025 as a permanent international platform aimed at advancing the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to strengthen connectivity between Central and South Asia. The initiative has received broad international support and was endorsed by a special resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on July 11, 2022.
According to the reports, the upcoming session is being organized by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The event is expected to bring together more than 150 participants, including political, business, and expert representatives, as well as international and regional organizations from Central and South Asia, Europe, the CIS, the South Caucasus, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Among the partners and participants are the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, leading think tanks, research institutions, and peacebuilding organizations, including the International Water Management Institute, the Centre for Progressive Reforms, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Berghof Foundation, PeaceNexus, Search for Common Ground, Georgetown University, and others.
The forum program also includes field visits. Delegates will travel to Termez to observe modern trade, economic, and logistics cooperation infrastructure with South Asian countries, including the Airitom International Trade Center and the Termez Cargo Center international logistics hub, as well as explore the city’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
On the third day, participants are expected to visit Samarkand, where they will be introduced to the unique civilizational legacy of the Samarkand Renaissance, historically regarded as a bridge between East and West, North and South. The session is expected to conclude with the adoption of a Communiqué aimed at strengthening trust between Central and South Asia, expanding constructive cooperation, and promoting sustainable connectivity
