According to Canada’s prominent online portal Yahoo News, the friendly match at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton will serve as an important preparation fixture for the Canadian national team ahead of the “FIFA World Cup 2026”. At the same time, the match will provide an opportunity for Uzbekistan to assess the physical and functional condition of its players.

The Uzbekistan national team was warmly welcomed in Edmonton by compatriots living in Canada as well as representatives of the local Uzbek community. During meetings with journalists and fans, the players spoke about their preparation process, as well as their goals and plans for the upcoming World Cup.

National team player Abbosbek Fayzullayev also commented on the upcoming friendly matches against Canada and the Netherlands, noting that the games are an important part of the team’s preparation cycle.
