BELGRADE, September 7. /Dunyo IA/. Leading Belgrade-based media outlets are publishing reports on the upcoming visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Serbia, highlighting its significance for further advancing bilateral relations and expanding practical cooperation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to a publication by the Serbian information and analytical portal “SrpskiPogled”, the visit could provide new impetus to political dialogue, trade, economic and investment ties, as well as cooperation in the transport, education and humanitarian spheres.
It is emphasized that the current bilateral trade turnover of around $12 million, as well as the presence of nine Serbian enterprises in Uzbekistan, do not reflect the existing potential for cooperation.
Among the promising areas are joint production and entering third-country markets, enhancing transport connectivity, including the establishment of direct air links between Tashkent and Belgrade, cooperation in the field of labour migration, education, science, tourism and culture.
Article also notes that the key political and institutional foundations for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Serbia have already been laid, while the upcoming visit could help advance the relationship towards a more dynamic partnership.
