“Travel Tomorrow”: Uzbekistan expands tourism destinations and infrastructure

BRUSSELS, August 17. /Dunyo IA/. Belgian publication “Travel Tomorrow” highlights the rapid development of Uzbekistan’s tourism sector, including the expansion of tourism infrastructure and the emergence of new destinations and experiences for international visitors, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
In his article, journalist Antonio Buscardini writes that alongside cultural tourism centred on the historical heritage of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, Uzbekistan is also developing ecotourism, gastronomic, pilgrimage, medical, sports and MICE tourism.
Publication also notes that the Uzbek authorities are implementing dozens of master plans for the development of tourism destinations, launching new hotel projects and taking measures to improve transport infrastructure and services for tourists.
Particular attention is given to business tourism. Organizers of international conferences, forums and exhibitions attended by at least 100 foreign visitors are eligible to receive a refund of 50 percent of VAT on relevant expenses.
According to the publication, the development of new tourism products and infrastructure is expected to help attract international visitors to Uzbekistan throughout the year.
