• 371VIENNA, May 4. /Dunyo IA/. The official website of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has published material on the activities of the Regional Youth Network for Central Asia, established in 2021 with the organization’s support, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
It is noted that the network brings together youth organizations and leaders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, and has gradually expanded its activities from drug use prevention to a broader platform addressing crime, corruption, and the social vulnerability of young people. It is emphasized that the initiative was founded following a meeting of young leaders in Samarkand.
Among the key achievements are the Youth Drug Survey, which in 2026 covered more than 8,400 participants – 44% more than the previous year – as well as the participation of network representatives as full-fledged contributors in discussions at the 69th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna.
The publication emphasizes that the network is seen as a scalable model of youth participation in preventive policy, potentially applicable beyond Central Asia, where young people act as active co-creators of solutions.
