RIYADH, May 6. /Dunyo IA/. The recently concluded visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov to Riyadh received extensive and multifaceted coverage in the Saudi media, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

A prominent place in the media agenda was occupied by reports that Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received a written message from the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, concerning the further strengthening of bilateral relations. This diplomatic gesture was interpreted by the Saudi media as evidence of a sustained high-level political dialogue and the commitment of both countries to deepening their partnership.

It was reported that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, received the message during a meeting with his Uzbek counterpart at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh.

This news occupied center stage on the front pages of leading Saudi newspapers, including “Al-Riyadh”, “Okaz”, “Asharq Al-Awsat”, “Al-Madina”, “Al-Jazirah” and “Al-Watan” and was also widely disseminated across electronic media and news portals.

Saudi media paid equally close attention to the meeting between the head of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry and the Governor of Riyadh, Prince Faisal bin Bandar. It was reported that the talks took place at the Al-Hakam Palace, where the parties engaged in friendly conversation and discussed a range of issues of mutual interest.

The economic component of the visit also held a significant place in the media agenda. In particular, the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia, Fahd Al-Saif, was widely covered. During the talks, the parties reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed prospects for developing investment cooperation, including the expansion of partnerships in priority economic sectors. Saudi media emphasized that such contacts are aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two countries and creating favorable conditions for the implementation of joint projects, particularly in the fields of energy, infrastructure, agriculture and industry.

The fact that the visit of Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister sparked interest not only in Saudi Arabia but also in a broader regional context, including the Gulf states, deserves separate mention. In particular, his meeting with the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, received significant coverage. During the talks, the parties discussed strategic relations between the GCC member states and Central Asian countries, as well as prospects for holding the second summit between the two regions. Special attention was paid to the development of economic cooperation, investment initiatives, and the expansion of multilateral engagement.

Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on a number of topical international and regional issues, including the security situation. This aspect was also reflected in Saudi and regional media, which noted Tashkent’s constructive position and its readiness to act as a responsible participant in international relations.
