SINGAPORE, October 7. /Dunyo IA/. Renowned German financial analyst and investor Rainer Michael Preiss, who is based in Singapore, has prepared an article on the prospects for establishing the Tashkent International Financial Centre and the experience of Singapore and Switzerland, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
In his view, the key condition for the success of the new financial centre should be building trust among international investors, rather than relying solely on tax incentives or the number of registered companies.
Expert highlighted the importance of independent commercial dispute resolution, predictable regulation and a respected financial regulator. He also recommended paying particular attention to combating money laundering, beneficial ownership transparency and compliance with international requirements.
Promising areas identified include private wealth management, the development of banking and insurance services, fintech, Islamic finance, investment funds and capital markets.
Rainer Michael Preiss believes that Uzbekistan’s geographical position and economic potential enable Tashkent to aspire to become a financial bridge between Central Asia and global capital. At the same time, he stressed the need to develop its own competitive advantages rather than copy the models of Singapore or Switzerland.
In the long term, the expert notes, the success of the Tashkent International Financial Centre will be determined by whether Tashkent becomes a jurisdiction trusted by international investors for regional transactions and capital management.
