The new ambassador of Uzbekistan arrived in Brussels

BRUSSELS, December 6. /IA "Dunyo"/. The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan, Gairat Fozilov, arrived in the capital of Belgium and the European Union last night, reports a "Dunyo" information agency correspondent.

In 2015–2017 and 2021–2023, he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the MFA system since 1996. He began his diplomatic service as an attaché of the Office for Cooperation with European Countries. He worked in various positions in the central apparatus, the National Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan, embassies in France, Belgium, and the Mission to NATO. In 2018-2021 he was Ambassador to Japan.
Speaks French and English.
Gairat Fozilov replaced Dilyor Khakimov, who worked in 2017–2023 as ambassador to Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, head of the missions of Uzbekistan to the European Union and NATO with residence in Brussels.
