Uzbekistan’s first Ambassador to Qatar arrives in Doha

DOHA, February 12. /"Dunyo" IA/. The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Ashraf Khodjaev arrived in the capital of Qatar.

Before assuming his role in Doha, Khodjaev served as the Director of the Department of Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


He is 43 years old. Graduated from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, National University of Uzbekistan and Peking University. Candidate of Economic Sciences (PhD).


His career within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs began in 2005 as a referent, subsequently occupying various positions within the ministry’s central office, as well as serving at the Permanent Mission to the UN in New York and the Embassy in the UK.


Since 2018, Khodjaev has held increasingly senior roles within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, culminating in his appointment as the Director of the Department of Economic Diplomacy.


Ashraf Khodjaev is the first Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Qatar, with residence in Doha.
