SEATTLE, June 18. /Dunyo IA/.   Visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to the American city of Seattle was conducted in a highly productive format and marked by a series of substantive meetings and important agreements, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the trip, productive negotiations were held with Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs, Seattle Deputy Mayor Brian Surratt, the leadership of the Center for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (CEREAS) at the University of Washington, as well as representatives of academic circles. Furthermore, promising directions for partnership were discussed with the “Greater Seattle Partners” association and leaders of public, business and economic development.

Particular attention during the meetings was dedicated to matters of further strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, expanding trade and investment cooperation, as well as developing partnerships in the fields of innovation, high technologies, the aerospace industry, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, education, and culture.

One of the key aspects of the visit was an exchange of views on expanding academic cooperation and expert dialogue, as well as on the role and significance of Central Asia within the system of international relations. The delegation also familiarized themselves with Central Asian educational programs and new initiatives for teaching the Uzbek language at the University of Washington.

The outcomes of the visit marked an important step toward unlocking new opportunities for strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States, as well as strengthening interregional and international ties between the two countries.
