BUDAPEST, June 18 /Dunyo IA/. The 30th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA) is taking place in Budapest from June 16 to 18, with the participation of a delegation from Uzbekistan headed by Chairman of the Tax Committee Farrukh Pulatov, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During a closed plenary session, the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan presented its application for membership in the organization as an associate member.

In his address, Farrukh Pulatov outlined the key directions of the tax reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It was noted that Uzbekistan is building a modern tax administration system based on digital services, data analytics, risk-based compliance management, and the promotion of voluntary tax compliance.

Particular attention was drawn to the introduction of electronic invoicing, online cash register systems, digital product labeling, automated risk analysis mechanisms, and proactive tax assessment tools. These measures are aimed at reducing administrative burdens, enhancing transparency, and improving the business environment.

Following a closed vote, the General Assembly approved Uzbekistan’s application, granting the country associate membership in IOTA.

It was emphasized that membership in the organization will enable Uzbekistan to strengthen professional cooperation with European tax administrations, adopt advanced international practices in digitalization and risk management, and share its own experience in the digital transformation of tax administration.

The General Assembly is also discussing the application of artificial intelligence in tax administration, the development of compliance tools, risk management approaches, and future models of tax systems through 2030.
