TASHKENT, April 8. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation of Uzbekistan, comprising representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Migration Agency, with the assistance of the Embassy of our country in the United States and the Consulate General in New York, held a series of constructive meetings with relevant ministries and agencies of the United States, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the MFA, during the meeting at the U.S. Department of Labour, a high level of mutual trust and the dynamic development of Uzbek-American strategic partnership relations were noted.
The U.S. side highly appreciated the reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in combating forced and child labour, as well as the effective cooperation in migration matters, including the organized repatriation of Uzbek citizens from the United States.
Prospects for further expanding cooperation in the field of consular and legal affairs were considered, including Uzbekistan’s participation in the H-2A seasonal worker visa program.
During the visit to the U.S. Department of State, the American side noted the steady positive dynamics of bilateral relations and the high level of political dialogue, emphasizing the strategic importance of Uzbekistan for the United States.
An agreement was reached to continue close cooperation in implementing joint initiatives in political, economic, and cultural-humanitarian areas, as well as to enhance information exchange on consular and legal matters.
A meeting was also held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington with representatives of the National Council of Agricultural Employers (NCAE).
The delegation also participated in forums of employers and compatriots held in Philadelphia and New York. The important role of these forums in strengthening intergenerational continuity, promoting cultural and educational initiatives, preserving national traditions among youth, and expanding cooperation with employers to create opportunities for attracting labor resources from Uzbekistan was underscored.
