Uzbekistan Diplomats hold Mobile Consular Reception for compatriots in Serbia

• 173BELGRADE, July 13. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary conducted a mobile consular reception in the Serbian cities of Belgrade, Karavukovo, Užice and Kula, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Within the framework of the visit, meetings were held with compatriots temporarily residing and working in these regions to examine their current concerns and pressing issues.
The citizens were provided with clarifications on the rules of stay in the territory of Serbia, the requirements of labour and migration legislation, procedure for registration with the consular office and its importance, as well as the mechanisms for rendering consular and legal assistance.
Special attention was paid to the rights and duties of citizens, the protection of their legitimate interests in labour relations, compliance with the terms of employment contracts and enhancing their legal awareness.
Within the framework of the consular visit, a series of negotiations were also held with local employers. It was established that certain employers were retaining the passports of citizens of Uzbekistan. It was clarified to the employers that identity documents constitute the personal property of citizens, and withholding them contradicts legislative requirements. It was emphasized that all passports must be returned to their owners immediately. The representatives of the employers expressed their readiness to promptly resolve this issue.
Furthermore, the meeting participants were presented with information on the types of assistance provided by the State and the Embassy, including the provision of financial aid, the organization of repatriation in emergency situations, consular and legal protection and other consular services.
The compatriots were also urged not to fall under the influence of various religious extremist movements and groups propagating radical ideas. It was especially emphasized that it is necessary to maintain vigilance and caution, and to immediately contact the Embassy when encountering suspicious individuals or situations.
The meetings were held in the format of an open dialogue and a Q&A session. Legal clarifications based on current legislation were provided for all issues of interest to migrants and students.
Following the visit, agreements were reached with local employers on further cooperation in the field of organized recruitment of labour resources from Uzbekistan, ensuring the rights of migrants, and expanding interaction. It should be noted that Serbia continues to experience a high demand for labour, with many sectors of the economy facing a deficit of qualified specialists
In this regard, local employers expressed significant interest in attracting labour resources from Uzbekistan and confirmed their readiness to develop practical cooperation in this area.
At the conclusion of the events, the participants were once again reminded of the need to strictly comply with the legislation of the host country, the terms of employment contracts and migration regulations, to keep identity documents under their personal control, and to maintain constant communication with the Embassy in the event of any problematic situations.
